Happy New Year!

Happy New Year...and welcome 2011! Here at the Orange County Library System, it is our hope to offer you a New Year filled with enlightening and entertaining offerings. These include everything from books and DVDs to free music downloads, cutting-edge computer classes, and great programs for kids and adults.

It's the New Year so why not try something new? Ever dreamed of becoming a pilot? Well, you can learn exactly how when professional flight instructors from Air Orlando visit the library to share their knowledge. They'll be at the South Creek Branch on January 15 and then at Herndon on January 25.

Speaking of new, you are invited to hear all about an initiative to enhance services to the Hispanic community. Called "Soy Culto," this program is funded by a Congressionally Directed Grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. Learn more by joining us at the South Creek Branch on January 11 at 11 a.m.

If you're like most people, one of your New Year's resolutions probably involves saving money. The Friends of the Library will give you the chance to do just that at the annual winter book sale. It runs January 21 - 23, and everything will be available at half-price. The Bookstore is located on the third floor of the Orlando Public Library.

Thank you for the opportunity to be part of your New Year. The Orange County Library System looks forward to serving you again in 2011.
