National Library Week

April 10 - 16 is National Library Week, and the Orange County Library System is bringing you lots of fun, free ways to celebrate the value that libraries add to the community. Into Foursquare? So is OCLS! Check-in with Foursquare at an OCLS library in the months of April and May, and check out with a cool prize!

And there's never been a better time to join the Friends of the Library than National Library Week. Join or upgrade your membership between Friday, April 1 and Friday, May 13, and you'll automatically be entered in a random drawing for fabulous prizes including free air travel, get-aways to luxury resorts, restaurant gift cards, movie passes and more.

National Library Week will end on a sweet note with our Books2Eat Festival at the Orlando Public Library on April 15. You'll be amazed by the incredible array of literary-themed cakes donated by local bakeries. They may look too good to eat but after everyone has enjoyed the cake display, we'll be serving up this year's delicious entries in Books2Eat.

We also invite you to celebrate the written word at the Sixth Annual Southwest Author Series event on Friday, April 15. Please join us for a enlightening and enriching evening with author David Mielke. His talk will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Southwest Branch Library. This special event includes refreshments and a book signing. Hope to see you there!
