Computer Tips and Tricks: WordArt and More

If you want to add a “special effect” to a title or other text in your Microsoft Word document, use WordArt. WordArt enables text effects such as skewing, shadowing, stretching and more in different shapes and colors. To add WordArt:
  1. Click on Insert Menu.
  2. Scroll down to Picture and select WordArt.
  3. Select the style you want from the gallery and click OK.
  4. Choose your font type and size then type in your text and click OK.

You can customize your WordArt by using the WordArt toolbar. If you can't see the toolbar, just right-click anywhere in your WordArt and select Show Format Toolbar. From here, you can edit your text or change it's style. You can also change the color of your WordArt by selecting the formatwordart.JPG icon in the toolbar. A display box will show and you will be able to change your fill or line colors. Use Fill Effects if you'd like to see different effects or patterns.
