Computer Tips and Tricks: Creating Desktop Icons

If you accidentally deleted an icon in your desktop or would like to make a shortcut icon of any program, just follow these simple steps:
  1. Click on Start->All Programs.
  2. Right-click on any program that you want to create a desktop icon.
  3. Move your mouse to Send to.
  4. Click on Desktop Create Shortcut.
You can also create a shortcut icon in your desktop of a web page that you frequently visit.
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Go the site/page that you want to create a shortcut.
  3. Click on the File menu.
  4. Scroll down to Send to and select Shortcut to Desktop.
