Computer Tips and Tricks: From Double-Click to Single Click

Normally you open your files and folders by double-clicking on them. If you are having difficulty double-clicking or just want to open items more quickly and consistently, you can customize Windows XP to open items with a single mouse click instead of a double-click.
Just follow these easy steps:
  1. In any folder window, click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Folder Options.

  3. singleclick.JPG
  4. In the Folder Options dialog box, select the General tab.
  5. Click the Single-click to open an item option. If you don't like the look of all those underlined files and folders, click the Underline icon titles only when I point at them option.
  6. Click OK to exit.
