Crafts and Arts Programs at Southwest March 24


March is National Craft Month. Celebrate the month by coming to the Southwest Library on Saturday, March 24 to learn to make an advanced origami piece or experience the ancient art form of Chinese brush painting.

Advanced Origami with Al Aki at 11:00 a.m.: Al Aki, a local Origami demonstrator and instructor will teach participants how to create a 30-piece Geodesic Sphere. This program is for experienced folders only. To demonstrate folding skills, please bring a "crane" to the class for the instructor to view.

Oriental Brush Painting at 1:00 p.m.: Artists/members of the Orlando Oriental Brush Painting Society will be giving an demonstration of various Chinese brush painting techniques. Participants will be able to learn and practice these techniques.

Both programs will result in beautiful art work created by you and for you to take home!

The programs require reservations. You may register online by going to www.ocls.info and clicking on "Classes and Programs," then click "Calandar of Events." Click on the program name and enter your card number and last name. You may also register by calling 407.835.7323 or email southwest@ocls.info
A library card is not necessary to attend the program, although you will need a card to register online.
