Eat Better, Eat Together Month
October is Eat Better, Eat Together Month. Research shows that children who eat with their family perform better in school and have healthier diets (Chase's Calendar of Events 2009). Come into the Southwest Branch and pick up some cookbooks you can use with your children to create meals you can enjoy together. One cookbook that promotes fun and eating is called Fairy Tale Feasts: a literary cookbook for young readers and eaters. The fairy tales in the book are retold by Jane Yolen and the recipes of food mentioned in the tales are by Heidi E.Y. Stemple.
