Orlando Chinese Brush Painting Society Art Exhibit at Southwest Library
The Southwest Library is pleased to present the works of the Orlando Chinese Brush Painting Society, founded by Sharon Aden Bennett.
This beautiful exhibit (on display January 1-March 31) features works from local artists who continue to learn and practice the long established techniques of Chinese brush painting. Chinese brush painting is one of the oldest, continuous artistic traditions in the world. Traditional painting essentially involves the same techniques as calligraphy, and is done with bamboo brushes and ink. The various pieces throughout the library utilize various materials and techniques, including rice papers, Silk, Splash ink, Solar creations, Shikishi board paintings, Suminagashi, Gyotaku, Crinkle, Collage, Alcohol inks, Oil, and Acrylic.
