Featured Artists at the Southwest Library - She Venezia & JJ Dennis

photo.JPGThe Southwest Library is proud to present the beautiful paintings of She Venezia as well as the unique mixed-media and photography of JJ Dennis. Both exhibits will be on display from April 1 - June 30.

She's exhibit, Say It With Animals, shows her joy of using mixed media and materials found in nature to capture the grace and elegance of different animals in her art. She states that, "trying to capture that certain look in their eyes, or the motion of their bodies provides a very therapeutic pastime...and I always make room for humor to enter the picture." She is also a member of the Orlando Chinese Brush Painting Society. For more information, please email She at shespider49@att.net.

mecocoa.jpg JJ Dennis's exhibit, What the Dickens!, is featured in the circular display at the back of the library. JJ is proud to be a part of the countywide celebration honoring the great Charles Dickens. Her mixed-media piece, A Solemn Consideration, was featured at the Orlando Museum of Art's What the Dickens! 1st Thursday event in March. She is a local freelance writer and artist specializing in digital photography/manipulation, iphoneography, and mixed media art.

Currently, her photography can be seen at 127 SoBo, the Winter Garden Art Association Gallery, and on May 1st at the Orlando Museum of Art's Inside/Out 1st Thursday event. More of JJ's work can be found on her Etsy site https://www.etsy.com/shop/theparlourobscura. She can also be contacted at jjdennis13@gmail.com.
