Author Visit: John Michael Cummings!

Come on down to the library for a special presentation by award-winning author John Michael Cummings. Find out what it takes to write YOUR first novel and land a New York publisher. You can also learn more about the legendary historical figure John Brown. Everyone from ages 11-18 is invited. And there will even be a book sale and signing following the program. Mr. Cummings will be headed to a location near you, so be sure to come meet him. I know I'm gonna go... he's FAMOUS!!!

How to Survive the Living Dead

Are you worried about an impeding zombie attack? Would you know what to do if the dead come to life? Come to the Orlando Public Library in the Club Central area on Wednesday, January 27 at 3:30 p.m. to have some camouflage fun and learn zombie detection skills. Painting with Scissors!

Hey teens! Learn to "paint with scissors" with Florida artist Cecilia Lueza, who will lead teens through composing fresh and dynamic images with simple materials in a hands-on workshop on Wednesday, January 13 in the Club Central area of the Orlando Public Library. Awesome Animanga Reality Contest!!!

Hola teens! Have you ever wanted to create your very own anime/manga character or comic strip? ...Well, draw your character, create the character traits and enter to win! Just make sure you are between the ages of 13 and 18, and your library card is in good standing. Here's the AWESOME part: Prizes will be awarded to the winners, and the winners will be announced at the Animanga Mini-Con Party on November 19 at 6 p.m. Guys, pick up an entry form at any Orange County Library System location. Be sure to enter soon though, because the deadline for entries is November 16.

Java Lounge: Teen Open Mic Night wants you!!!

Express yourself at this open mic coffeehouse! Young adults ages 13-18 are welcome to entertain us with your band, comedy routine, storytelling, poetry, raps and much more.
